Coffee and Croissants

…This morning on the Milwaukee food tour, The National Cafe! It has been exceptionally nice weather here and this spot was only a mile and a half away, so a walk through the city was rewarded with delicious coffee and breakfast! The building the cafe is in was built in 1886. The cafe itself is quite charming, very old, and rustic. Vintage decor mixed with more modern touches gives it a cozyness. It’s definitely the kind of spot you feel like hanging out for half a day with some friends and a cup of coffee. While they had a lot of specialty coffee to choose from. I decided on a regular cup-of-joe. Their coffee is fairtrade, gmo free, and from great locals. After holding up the line debating with the choices I went with a caramel and toffee hinted number from Peru. Since I knew I would be eating again soonish, I ordered a “Breakfast Slider” on a croissant. What came out was humongous. The croissant was crisp, buttery, and light. The eggs, cheese, and spinach I had ordered as my toppings were some of the most flavorful and perfectly seasoned ingredients in a breakfast sandwich ever. I truly struggled to finish it all but I refused to leave any uneaten, it was too good.
